Wood Cockroach
Pennsylvania Wood Cockroach
This species is normally an outdoor pest. The Pennsylvania wood cockroach male is 22-30mm and the females measure 12-20mm. They have long antennae and yellowish-chestnut brown. They feed on organic matter, fungi and fermenting substances. They can be found hiding under wood piles, leaf piles and stumps. Males are strong flyers and can be found sometimes in structures because they are attracted to the light at night and mistakenly find their way into homes and cottages. The female Pennsylvania wood cockroach has a 1 year life span and produces 29 egg cases with 24-30 eggs per cases in that time.
